Jeanette Trout was born and raised in the Harrisburg area. She studied English and Literature and has been writing since childhood. She plays an active role in the local poetry community. She, along with her husband, was co-founder and co-editor of Experimental Forest, a local poetry magazine that has become Experimental Forest Press, focusing on publishing books for local writers.

She is a founding member of The Almost Uptown Poetry Cartel, serving in many positions over the last two decades. She created and hosts the annual Poet’s Cruise on the Susquehanna Riverboat each summer. An event that brings poets together from all over the central Pennsylvania region.

Jeanette began her journey with Narcisse Theatre Company last season, stepping in as Managing Director. She worked behind the scenes on “Waiting for Godot,” doing whatever needed to be done in the moment, and is looking forward to the coming season.

Jeanette has been enjoying the theatre life. Her experiences with Narcisse have been instrumental and educational with her working project of a poetic piece for the stage. She may even try her hand at playwriting in the future.
